The Wellness Pregnancy Workshop

Vaughan Chiropractor Presents The Wellness Pregnancy Workshop

pregnant mom with childToday, pregnancy is seen more like a health condition than a beautiful normal process of nature.  Caesarean rates are high and intervention with medicine, hospital monitoring equipment and surgery has now become a norm. Many first time moms-to-be go through their pregnancy with fears of the unknown and without a solid birth plan.

However, the process of pregnancy is a natural human experience to be cherished. The goal should be an easier, safer and healthier birth for both mom and baby. And the closer to nature the birthing process is, the better it is for both mom and baby.

The objective of this workshop is to lead expectant moms and moms-to-be to make natural holistic health care choices so they can experience a Wellness Pregnancy for themselves.

At this workshop, you will learn:

  • Key dietary recommendations that provides optimal nutritional support for mom and for the growing baby.
  • Simple exercise routines to help maintain fitness during pregnancy.
  • How to choose your pregnancy health care team and who should be on your health care team.
  • How pregnancy chiropractic care and Webster Technique can help maintain spinal and pelvic balance to promote an easier birth.
  • And much much more.

7 Ways To A Better Diet For You And Your Family

Thursday, December 6th, 2012

A 2004 Statistics Canada report shows that many Canadians “do not have a balanced diet”.

There is a huge problem today with the diet and eating habits of Canadians.

The Statistics Canada report, titled “Overview Of Canadians’ Eating Habits”1, by Didier Garriguet showed that:

  • A majority of Canadians don’t get enough fruits and vegitables in their diet.
  • More then a quarter of men and women in their thirties and forties get more then 35% of their calories from fats.
  • People of all ages get more then 20% of their calories from other low nutritional valued foods (such as butter, beverages like soft drinks and coffee, foods that are sugar like syrups, jams, honey and high-fat, high-salt foods like chips).
  • A quarter of Canadians, including adults and children, eat something that comes from a fast food outlet.

The question that is important here is … “How are your eating habits?”

In the fast-paced, mass-production world we live in today, it may seem difficult to eat a balanced nutritional diet. However, that’s not true.  Eating a balanced diet is possible and we have been teaching this at our clinic for years. You too can start making healthier eating choices for yourself, your children and your family.

Here are some tips that will get you starting to eat a healthier, leaner and more nutritional meal.

How To Prevent A ‘Heart Attack Grill’-Like Incident

Wednesday, February 15th, 2012

Did you hear? Fox News reported about a man who suffered a heart attack while dining at a popular Las Vegas restaurant and the restaurant is called Heart Attack Grill.

Irony, you call it? Coincidence? Or was it a series of choices that led to an impactful wake-up call for this man? Luckily the paramedics arrived in time to help this man and reports say he is alive.

More then likely this wasn’t due to a one-time meal at a high-calorie restaurant but due to a series of choices that culminated in a traumatic and life-threatening incident.

At our clinic, Back To Health Chiropractic Centre, we teach about choices at our wellness workshops and lectures. I tell our patients that the choices you make today in life will shape your future.  And if you want to live a life of your dreams and vision, the choices you make today absolutely matter.  So you owe it to yourself to make the right choices for your health and your well-being, not just for now but for the rest of your life.

Health and wellness education for the worker.

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

Many of our patients, their friends and their families enjoy attending our in-office health and wellness workshops.   These are held at Back To Health Chiropractic Centre on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.  Check out some of the topics and feel free to attend any that interest you.

Just like we do in-office wellness workshops, we also deliver cutting edge health and safety workshops for the worker at the place of their employments.   These Corporate Wellness Workshops are delivered on-site, during a lunch break or during a company health and safety day.

Workers benefit tremendously and so does their company.   Through the various workplace workshops, we teach workers how to lift properly, how set up a computer desk to be ergonomically correct, and how to  strengthen their  core.  One workshop specifically guides workers through a 15 minute stretching routine which helps to relax muscles, ease tension and relieve stress.

Check out our Corporate Wellness  page for more detailed information.  Our Corporate Wellness workshops are catered for factory workers, plant workers and also office workers.

If you would like to bring one of these Corporate Wellness workshops to your company, give us a call at Back To Health Chiropractic Centre (905) 303-1009 and we will help set this up for your workers.
