Dr. Walter Salubro, Chiropractor in Vaughan, Explains the Biggest Difference between Sick Care and Health Care

Maple, ON — Our predominant “health care system” is in dangerous trouble. Canada and United States are two of the richest countries in the World, yet their citizens take the most medications and are some of the sickest people. So, something must be done differently. I talk about this in my book, Back to Health by Choice. If you truly want to be the healthiest, the strongest, and the most energetic person you can be, you must take your health into your own hands.

Taking ownership and responsibility of your own health, your body, your wellness, and your lifestyle choices is an essential requirement to getting healthy and staying healthy.

In this brief video, I explain the difference between sick care and health care. Watch it and leave a comment on Facebook.

How To Prevent Slouching And Correct Your Posture With The Posture Medic Brace

Tuesday, April 15th, 2014

Dr. Walter Salubro, Chiropractor in Maple, Ontario, reviews the Posture Medic Brace and demonstrates how to wear it.

Posture Medic Brace Posture Perfector Posture CorrectionThe Posture Medic brace is a nice, effective and easy-to-use posture correcting brace that prevents slouching.

How do you know if you have bad posture? Here are some things to look for:

  1. Do you have rounded shoulders?
  2. Do you carry your head forward past your shoulders?
  3. Is one shoulder lower then the other?
  4. Is your upper back rounded?
  5. Do you have a hump at the top of your back?
  6. Does your pelvis (hips) shift forward?

Bad posture can cause shifts on your spinal bones, pressure on your nerves and discs and tension on your muscles.

Often times, bad posture leads to:

  1. Neck pains
  2. Back pains
  3. Headaches
  4. Fatigue
  5. Lack of energy
  6. Muscles tension and tightness
  7. Limited mobility
  8. Spinal degeneration / arthritis

Some simple changes in your daily activities help prevent postural problems from developing or progressing, like:

  1. Correcting your computer station/desk for optimum ergonomics.
  2. Avoid flexing or bending your neck when you text or use your smart phone or tablet devices.
  3. Sleeping with a good pillow.
  4. Wearing a posture correcting brace like the Posture Medic brace (see Video 1 and Video 2 below).

I really like the Posture Medic brace and have recommended it to many of my patients. It’s actually a great compliment to my patient’s chiropractic care. The Posture Medic brace was originally called the Posture Perfector. It’s the same great product, just with a different name. The Posture Medic brace comes with a pamphlet that gives you easy-to-follow instructions for use and posture exercise suggestions.

The Posture Medic comes in different sizes so it can give the right amount of posture correction for your specific body type and size.

How To Stretch Your Neck To Relieve Muscle Tension

Monday, March 18th, 2013

Chiropractor in Maple, Vaughan Ontario shows easy-to-do stretches to relieve neck pain and muscle tension.

Do you sit in front of the computer at work or at home for extended periods of time? Or, do you ever  wake up in the morning because of sleeping in a ‘bad’ position?

These are two common scenarios that can cause neck pain or muscle tension in the neck and shoulder.  Chiropractic care for neck pain can be very effective at correcting the problem and giving neck pain relief and muscle tension relief.

However, if you are looking for something to do at anytime during the day, some simple neck strectches can help.  Of course, if the problem is not getting better or getting worse, you should get it checked by a chiropractor.
