Now, in this video, I’m not only going to show you an exercise that helps to strengthen your low back but this particular exercise also help improve muscle activation, muscle firing patterns in the thigh area, buttock area and lower back region.

And that’s important because one of the most common elements that I see in our patients that have low back pain is that their muscle firing sequences in their thigh, glutes and lower back region is disrupted. It’s out of balance. And that can cause further muscle problems, further back pain, and also delay the healing process.

So this exercise is very important to help strengthen the low back, rehabilitate it, improve the coordination and the muscle activation. Thereby, decreasing the stress, tension, pain, inflammation on low back while making it stronger.

6 Percocet Pills a Day Cannot Be the Answer to Better Health!

Yesterday I was listening to a radio talk show and one the of callers said something that I found very disturbing with regards to current health trends.

This person is suffering of back pain. His answer…he says he takes 6 Percocet pills a day (an opioid narcotic medication). SIX a day!! But that’s not all.

He also says he is given 25 novocaine injections a month for his back pain.

I have difficulty wrapping my head around the amount of drugs one person can take. So six percocet pills a day are not enough, that he still needs 25 novocaine injections each month.

Does this sound normal to you? Does this sound like a solution to correct back pain? Or any other health problem? I think not!

Also, I have noticed that people who are in pain are also stressed out. The common thread is that all people are seeking for answers and solutions to their health problem, to conquer their stress, and to better their health, but they are falling short from receiving the solutions their truly need.

When patients come to my office for chiropractic care, often times they have tried everything else, like drugs, physiotherapy, massage therapy, specialists appointments, and they received many special tests, like MRI’s and CTs. It’s remarkable that after all that seeking, they are still suffering from the same pain, stress, and health issues.

Low Back Pain: Why Is It So Common? This question has plagued all of us, including researchers for a long time!  Could it be because we’re all inherently lazy and don’t exercise enough? Or maybe it’s because we have a job that’s too demanding on our back?  To properly address this question, here are some interesting facts:

The prevalence of low back pain (LBP) is common, as 70-85% of ALL PEOPLE have back pain that requires treatment of some sort at some time in life.

  1. On a yearly basis, the annual prevalence of back pain averages 30% and once you have back pain, the likelihood of recurrence is high.
  2. Back pain is the most common cause of activity limitation in people less than 45 years of age.
  3. Back pain is the 2nd most frequent reason for physician visits, the 5th ranking reason for hospital admissions, and is the 3rd most common cause for surgical procedures.
  4. About 2% of theUSworkforce receives compensation for back injuries annually.
  5. Similar statistics exist for other countries, including the UK and Sweden.

So, what are the common links as to why back pain is so common?
